When someone you love is sick you do what you can to help them thrive and untitled (sensitive infrastructures) group exhibition
Excerpt from catalogue interview:“
I had to find a way to present my main piece, When someone you love is sick you do what you can to help them thrive, which primarily consists of a web application, and that’s when I started to think about the ‘body’ of the institution as a critical point of fixture. In my working life I was previously employed in a datacenter, and there you deal with the internet as an extremely concrete and physical entity, and yet I had the experience that we’ve learned to view the internet as something completely opposite of that: invisible and inaccessible. In that sense both contemporary art (through elitist institutions, e.g.) and software culture (through technological scale, e.g.) are being made inaccessible by powerful stakeholders who – in my experience – enable the economic growth paradigm and uphold a right-wing populist turn in contemporary art here at home as well as in the western colonial exploitation of resources – like minerals and labor power – in the global south.”
